The Rebrand of Tenun Coffee Roasters

Tenun Coffee is a second-generation coffee roaster established in 1990. The company focuses on high-quality Indonesian coffee beans and coffee-based drinks. The company’s mission is to elevate Indonesian coffee and improve farmers' lives, with vision to be a cohesive, trusted leader in specialty coffee, recognized for impactful quality and ethical sourcing, and showing the world that Indonesian Coffee deserves centerstage.

BRIEF

To clarify and strengthen Tenun Coffee's branding for consistent and impactful creative design production across all channels, especially in the creation of an evergreen Tenun pattern for their packaging.

The creative exploration involves a cohesive, clean interpretations of Tenun & Batik textiles (Indonesian heritage) for the logo, enough negative space for breathing room, and color palettes reflecting different coffee profiles.

CHALLENGE

Lack of identity system, such as clarity on typography, color, and pattern. No packaging cup design that represents the brand story and stands through the test of time. Additionally, busy logomark when combined with image as background for social media content. The logotype has very fine line that is hard to distinguish from afar.
